47 Meters Down (previously known as In the Deep) is an upcoming 2017 American survival horror film directed by Johannes Roberts. The film stars Mandy Moore and Claire Holt and was co-written by Roberts and Ernest Riera.

Plot
Two sisters, Lisa (Mandy Moore) and Kate (Claire Holt), decide to go shark diving while on a trip to Mexico. Kate seems to be doing it for the thrill of coming close to sharks and Lisa seems to be doing it to scare the broken heart out of herself after her boyfriend left her. They board a boat captained by Taylor (Matthew Modine) and are excited when a shark around twenty feet comes swimming around the spot they’re about to jump into. Once inside the observation cage and lowered into the water, the great white shark begins to immediately circle them and they couldn’t be happier. That is until the cable connected to their cage snaps and sends them plummeting 47 meters down. The sisters begin to lose oxygen so Kate frees herself from the cage and swims up to contact Taylor who says they will be sending help. The shark begins to chase Kate back to the cage. The girls see a flashlight in the distance and think it is Javier. Since Lisa has more oxygen then Kate she goes out to retrieve the flashlight. As she is on her way back she is pursued by the shark. Just as the shark is gone she encounters Javier, only for him to be eaten by the shark. She takes the hook that Javier had and attaches to the cage so Taylor can pull her up. The girls then get excited as the cage starts to rise. Unfortunately the chain snaps again sending the girls back down. Lisa's leg got trapped between the cage and ocean floor as the cage plummeted. Now the girls' oxygen is very low. Taylor sends down extra tanks and supplies that will last them until help arrives which is less than an hour. He also tells them to watch each other in case they begin to hallucinate. Since Kate is free she goes to retrieve the supplies. Just as she is about to enter the cage she is attacked by the shark as Lisa screams in horror. Lisa frees her leg and finds Kate badly wounded. The girls light a flare to scare off sharks. Just as the last one goes out they become surrounded by great whites. The girls swim up to the boat. While Lisa is laying on the boat looking at the cut on her hand the blood appears to be floating as if she still in water. It is revealed she was hallucinating and is still stuck in the cage by herself as she mourns over Kate. The film ends as Coast Guard divers come and rescue her from the cage.
Release
Original distributor Dimension Films had initially set a North American DVD and VOD release date for August 2, 2016. However, on July 25, Variety reported that Dimension had sold the rights to Entertainment Studios. Entertainment Studios cancelled the August 2 home release and will instead release the film theatrically in the United States on June 23, 2017. The working title for the film was 47 Meters Down, which Dimension had changed to In the Deep for their home release, but Entertainment Studios have reverted to the original title.
