The 40th Anniversary Tour was a Cliff Richard worldwide tour that reinforced his status as a music icon, in conjunction with promoting associated new release album "Real As I Wanna Be" and performing songs from his 40-year career. The 1998-1999 arena- tour included shows in UK, Ireland, Europe and Australia / New Zealand. For the performances in the latter two countries some special guests were also lined up.

  • Australia concerts were performed with Australian Philharmonic and Olivia Newton-John as a guest performer.
  • 21 and 22 September 1998 were two free concerts for fan club members to record 40th Anniversary video.
  • 32 sell out concerts in a row at the Royal Albert Hall, London for Cliff Richard, the most by any artist.
  • Breaks records with the longest ever residence at Londons RAH. All 90,000 tickets for 20 dates sell out in 36 hours so a further 12 are added.
