In 2005, 22nd Century Media (22CM) launched its first hyperlocal newspaper, The Homer Horizon. Since, it has added at least one publication every year through 2015. The other southwest-suburban Chicago publications are, in order of their debut: The Frankfort Station, The Orland Park Prairie, The New Lenox Patriot, The Tinley Junction, The Mokena Messenger and The Lockport Legend. The company's second branch opened on the North Shore in 2010, when it simultaneously launched The Wilmette Beacon and The Winnetka Current. Those publications were followed by: The Glenview Lantern, The Northbrook Tower, The Highland Park Landmark, The Glencoe Anchor and The Lake Forest Leader. Each 22CM community newspaper features unique content, as each covers only the news and information relevant to its respective coverage area and avoids non-localized regional, national or international story lines. Since beginning to compete in editorial award competitions in 2008, 22nd Century Media publications have collected more than 150 state (Illinois Press Association) and national (National Newspaper Association) awards, in everything from reporting and photography to public service and general excellence.

Chicagoly is led by Editor In Chief Joe Coughlin and Creative Director Vasilis Papadrosos. Subscriptions are available at Chicagolymag.com/subscribe. Despite publishing just one issue in 2015, Chicagoly earned an award nomination from the 2015 Lisagor Awards from the Chicago Headline Club. The story "Back In The Bigs," a profile of former Chicago Cubs player Mark Grace, now a hitting coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks, in the regular series called What Now?, was one of three finalists in the Best Sport Story category. The magazine's complimentery website boasts all the content in the magazine, plus extended versions and photo galleries.

22CM Events

In 2014, 22nd Century Media expanded its community reach by initiating an Events Division, which would plan and host expos and family events multiple times a year.
