The 2021 FIFA U-20 World Cup will be the 23rd edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, the biennial international men's youth football championship contested by the under-20 national teams of the member associations of FIFA, since its inception in 1977 as the FIFA World Youth Championship. The bidding to host the tournament will begin in 2019.

Qualifying
A total of 24 teams qualify for the final tournament; this will be the case unless FIFA change the format. In addition to the host, who qualify automatically, 23 other teams qualify from six separate continental competitions.
