The 2018 ICC World Twenty20 is scheduled to be the seventh ICC World Twenty20 tournament. In June 2016 the International Cricket Council (ICC) suggested that the possible host of the tournament will be South Africa. The 2018 tournament would be reinstated based on the success of the 2016 tournament and is scheduled to feature more Associate nations. Following the conclusion of the ICC's annual conference in July 2016, the ICC delayed the decision on the future of the 2018 tournament until October 2016. As of February 2017, the ICC were still in talks about the decision regarding the tournament.
