The 2017 V.League 1 (known as the Toyota V.League 1 for sponsorship reasons) season is the 34th season of the V.League 1, the highest division of Football in Vietnam. The season began on 7 January 2017 and finish on 29 October 2017.

There is no longer a play-off match this season, so there is only one direct relegation slot.
Names changes
In January 2017, Hà Nội T&T were renamed Hà Nội and QNK Quảng Nam were renamed Quảng Nam.

Hồ Chí Minh City vs Long An (Round 6)
At round 6, Hồ Chí Minh City played against Long An at Thống Nhất Stadium. At the minute of 90, Hồ Chí Minh City were given a penalty. After protesting, players of Long An didn't want to play anymore. So Hồ Chí Minh City scored 3 goals so easily that the match ended with the score 5-2. After the match, VPF held an appointment.
Hải Phòng vs Hà Nội (Round 6)
At round 6, Hải Phòng played against Hà Nội at Lạch Tray Stadium. Hải Phòng's fans had some insults to the referee, Hà Nội and threw bottles. After the match, they also prevented two teams from the interview. So Hải Phòng must be play at home at round 8 without any fans.
