The 2017–18 FA WSL will be the seventh edition of the FA WSL since it was formed in 2010. This will be the first season of WSL which runs as a winter league. It is planned to start in September 2017 and ends in May 2018, with 10 teams competing in WSL 1 and 11 teams in WSL 2.
Contents
A one-off competition, the FA WSL Spring Series, will run from February to May 2017 to bridge the gap from the 2016 FA WSL season and act as a warm up tournament.
Teams
WSL 1
Ten teams will compete in this season.
WSL 2
Eleven teams will compete in this season. Brighton & Hove Albion was promoted after beating Sporting Club Albion in the 2015–16 FA Women's Premier League Championship play-off.
Table
It is the first season, where a team will be relegated from the WSL.
