The 2016 Louth Senior Football Championship is the 123rd edition of the Louth GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Louth, Ireland. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage.

Contents

St. Patrick's Lordship were the defending champions and completed a '2-in-a-row' after they defeated the Seán O'Mahonys in the previous years final, however they were knocked out in the group stages, stunned by I.F.C. champions Kilkerley Emmets.

This was Kilkerley Emmets' return to the senior grade after claiming the 2015 Louth Intermediate Football Championship title. This completed a straight return to the senior grade after they were relegated to the I.F.C. in 2014.

The draw for the group stages of the championship were made on 7 April 2016.

The O'Connells were relegated to the I.F.C. for 2017 after 4 years as a senior club.

On 2 October 2016 the Seán O'Mahonys won their first ever Louth S.F.C. title when defeating St. Mary's Ardee in the final at Drogheda Park on a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-9.
