The 2016 Jerusalem bus bombing was a bomb attack targeting a bus in Jerusalem on 18 April 2016. The bomber was a member of Hamas, which however did not claim responsibility. At least 21 people were injured, two of which were critically injured. The bombing occurred at around 18:00 in the Talpiot neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Security services confirm that the bombing was a terror attack. The explosion, on a Egged bus #12, set an adjacent bus, which was mostly empty, and a nearby car aflame. Most of the injuries were to passengers on the #12 Egged bus. This is the first attack on a bus in Jerusalem since 2011.
Victims
One day after the bombing, 2 victims continued in serious condition and 5 in moderate condition, all in hospital, while 13 more victims sustained minor injuries and some of these had already been discharged from hospital.
Perpetrator
The alleged perpetrator lost several limbs and succumbed in hospital several days after the bombing, Police did not initially confirm whether or not one of the individuals hospitalized was the bomber.
Hamas admitted that the perpetrator was a member of the West Bank branch of the organization, but did not responsibility for the bombing, It hailed Abdul Hamid Abu Srour (19), the only person who died due to the bombing, as a 'martyr'.
Investigation
A police forensic team discovered remnants of a bomb in the wreckage. The investigation is under a police gag order.
