The 2016–17 Swiss Super League, also known as Raiffeisen Super League for sponsoring purposes, is the 120th season of top-tier football in Switzerland. Basel are the defending champions. The fixtures were published on 17 June 2016.

Contents

A total of 10 teams compete in the league, the 9 best teams from the 2015–16 season and the 2015–16 Swiss Challenge League champion Lausanne-Sport. The season started on the week-end 23/24 July.

Stadia and locations

  • This will be the first season since 1989/90 that there is only one club from Zürich to play in the first tier, because FC Zürich finished in last position and were relegated at the end of the 2015/2016 season.
  • Positions by round

The table lists the positions of teams after completion of each round. In order to preserve chronological evolution, any postponed matches are not included in the round at which they were originally scheduled, but added to the full round they were played immediately afterwards. For example, if a match is scheduled for matchday 13, but then postponed and played between days 16 and 17, it will be added to the standings for day 16.
