Season

Due to the retirement of club legend Javier Zanetti, at the end of previous season, Andrea Ranocchia is appointed new captain. 2014–15 season starts off with Europa League play-off, in which Inter has beaten Stjarnan by a 9–0 aggregate.

On domestic league, excepting a 7–0 win over Sassuolo, Walter Mazzarri's side offers some poor performances that lead to Roberto Mancini's return. Despite this change Inter keeps on a difficult season resulting in a one-man band, mainly thank to Mauro Icardi's manic goal scoring. The side ends in eighth place, not entering to European football for 2015–16 season.

About Europa League, they are knocked out by Wolfsburg in round of 16 losing both games.
