After few weeks, Dragan Šakota took over as new coach and notable players came to AEK such as Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Malik Hairston and other. Another important change was the change of the owner. The new owner is Makis Angelopoulos. At the end of the season AEK finished in 5th place of the championship defeated by Aris in the play-off games.
