South Alabama
The Colonels get a shot at redemption when they play FBS transitioning South Alabama. This will be the second meeting between the 2 schools, the first being in 2010, and South Alabama owns a 1-0 series lead.
Tulsa
The third of 3 FBS opponents features the first ever meeting against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
Evangel
The fourth game of the year opens up the Colonels home stretch. For the second consecutive year Evangel's Crusaders will face off against the Colonels. It's the third meeting between the two, the most recent having opened the 2011 campaign, with Nicholls State owning a 2-0 record.
Central Arkansas
SLC play opens up as the Colonels visit the Bears. It's the 7th meeting between the two with Central Arkansas holding a 4-2 advantage in the series.
Sam Houston State
The Colonels try to end a 6 game losing streak with the 2012 match against the Bearkats. Overall the Bearkats hold a 15-11-1 series advantage.
Stephen F. Austin
Can the Colonels find success in Texas? A four-game losing streak to the Lumberjacks awaits the Colonels in this 2012 match. The Lumberjacks own a huge 22-6 record against the Colonels and find themselves 11-3 in both locations.
Northwestern State
The Colonels found a 2-game winning streak against the Demons snapped in 2011. Now they attempt to win for the third time in four years and cut into the 25-14 advantage the Demons have in head-to-head football matches.
McNeese State
The 37th meeting between the Cowboys and Colonels begins the November schedule. McNeese State owns a 25-11 advantage in the overall series standings and has won the past three meetings. Perhaps an even larger surprise is the Colonels have done better on the road against the Cowboys (7-13) than at home (4-12).
Lamar
The Colonels end the regular season road games in a location they've never won- Beaumont against the Cardinals. It's the 4th meeting between the two schools with the Cardinals owning a 3-1 series lead and a 2-0 record in Beaumont. The Cardinals have won the last two meetings in 2010 and 2011.
Southeastern Louisiana
The Regular Season ends with the annual River Bell Classic. The Colonels own a 12-9 series advantage, but they did lose the 2011 match after winning the previous 3 seasons consecutively.
Oregon State
The 2012 season was scheduled to begin with Oregon State playing the Colonels. It was to be the first meeting between the two programs. However, Hurricane Isaac changed this. Since the Colonels hadn't practiced together since August 25 and the campus didn't reopen until September 3, the game was postponed. A December 1 make-up date occurred, when Nicholls State did not make the playoffs.
