Domenic Cassisi was confirmed to retain the captaincy for the 2011 season as part of a seven-man leadership group.

Port Adelaide recorded its worst ever season in the AFL, with only three wins in the year, against Adelaide in Round 4, Richmond in Round 10, and Melbourne in Round 24. They also became the first team to lose to expansion club Gold Coast after Port's Justin Westhoff missed a kick after the siren that would have won the game for Port Adelaide. Port narrowly avoided last place on the ladder and the wooden spoon with their final rodn win over Melbourne, which lifted them above Gold Coast on the ladder.

2011 Guernseys

Port Adelaide's two current guernseys are:
------

The black jersey, also known as the "Back in Black" jersey is used as the home kit and is the predominant Guernsey used by the team, including away matches if the two teams colours don't clash. If they do, the white kit is introduced, used as the away kit. The same design applies for both, with the two coloured "V" symbol used. On the white kit, it features black and teal, with the home kit featuring white and teal

Reebok was the kit sponsor and, Aussie ATM was signed as the sponsors for the back of the guernseys, with the club supporting the local company.
