A preliminary list of participating countries as of May 21, 2010, was published. According to an unofficial count, 257 athletes from 21 countries participated.
Athletes from Dominica, Guatemala and Haiti appear on the result lists, but were scratched or did not show, while athletes from Cuba, El Salvador, and the United States Virgin Islands were initially announced, but do not appear on the result lists.
