The 2008–09 Washington Wizards season was the 48th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Wizards began the season hoping to improve on their 43-39 record from the previous year. They failed and fell short 24 games, and finished with a dismal 19-63 record, and failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since the 2003-04 season.
