Regular season

After five games, during which the team posted only one win, coach Eric Lavigne was fired and replaced by Patrick Roy, who assumed the coaching duties in addition to his duties as general manager. On September 30, 2005, in Roy's first game as coach, the Remparts defeated the St. John’s Fog Devils 6-3.

Contents

During the season, the Remparts had two winning streaks of 14 and 13 wins. The club was first in the Western Division with a record of 52-16-1-1 and 106 points.

Memorial Cup

The Remparts won the Memorial Cup by defeating the QMJHL champion, Moncton Wildcats, 6-2 in the final, after having previously lost to Moncton in the finals of the QMJHL. Since Moncton had qualified for the Memorial Cup as host team, the Remparts represented the QMJHL as runners-up. It was the first time that two teams from the QMJHL had met in the final. It was also the first time that the winner of the Memorial Cup was neither the host team nor a league champion. Alexander Radulov scored 2 goals in the final, and 55 points overall during the playoff campaign.
