The 2004–05 Seattle SuperSonics season was the team's 38th in the NBA. They began the season hoping to improve upon their 37-45 output from the previous season. They bested it by fifteen wins, finishing 52-30 and qualified for the playoffs for the first time in three seasons. This would be last time they made the playoffs as the Sonics.
