1999 Sports Racing World Cup

The 2001 FIA Sportscar Championship was the first season of FIA Sportscar Championship motor racing, a continuation of the previously named Sports Racing World Cup. It was open to prototype Sportscars competing in two classes based on power and weight, called SR1 and SR2. It began on April 8, 2001 and ended September 16, 2001 after eight races. Separate championship titles were awarded for Drivers, Constructors and Teams in both classes.

SR1 Standings

Marco Zadra won the SR1 Drivers title at the wheel of a Ferrari 333SP entered by BMS Scuderia Italia.

SR2 Standings

The SR2 Drivers award went to Thed Björk and Larry Oberto who shared a Lola B2K/40 Nissan entered by Sportsracing Team Sweden.

SR1 Standings

Ferrari won the SR1 Constructors title.

SR2 Standings

The SR2 Constructors award went to Lola Cars International.

Teams Championship

Points are awarded to the top 10 finishers in the order of 20-15-12-10-8-6-4-3-2-1. Only the highest placing car within a team earned points towards the championship.
