The 2001 Arab Club Champions Cup edition, was won by Qatari side Al Sadd SC, the hosts. It was the 17th tournament and was held from 28 November to 12 December 2001.

Group Stage

The eight teams were drawn into two groups of four. Each group was played on one leg basis. The winners and runners-up of each group advanced to the semi-finals.

Group B

Al-Faisaly SC withdrew the tournament after the first match after contesting the referee falses, the result was annulled.
Al Rayyan SC replaced Al Ain SC who withrewed the tournament.
