Season summary

Feyenoord suffered a disappointing exit in the Champions League group stages, and were demoted to the UEFA Cup. The European disappointment soon turned to triumph, as Feyenoord defeated Freiburg, Rangers, PSV and Inter Milan to reach the final (held at Feyenoord's home ground of De Kuip), where they defeated Borussia Dortmund to win their second UEFA Cup.
