Service
The 1st Maine Battery was organized in Portland, Maine and mustered in for three years' service on December 18, 1861.
The battery was attached to 3rd Brigade, Department of the Gulf, to September 1862. Weitzel's Reserve Brigade, Department of the Gulf, to January 1863.
