The 1998 Arab Nations Cup is the seventh edition of the Arab Nations Cup hosted by Qatar, in Doha. Saudi Arabia won their first title.

  •  Saudi Arabia and  Morocco qualified as World Cup qualifiers.
  • The Qualifying Stage is divided into 4 Groups based on the Geography regions, the groups are: The Levant, The Gulf, The Red sea and The North Africa group, Top teams qualify to the 1998 Arab Nations Cup.
  • The qualified teams from the Qualifying Stage are:
    •  Kuwait and  United Arab Emirates qualified from the Gulf group  Algeria and  Libya qualified from the North Africa group  Sudan qualified from the Red Sea group  Jordan,  Syria and  Lebanon qualified from the Levant group

    Algeria, Egypt and Morocco did not send their senior national teams but instead sent their Under-23 teams to the competition.
