The 1997 Davis Cup was the 86th edition of the most important tournament between nations in men's tennis. Group IV was added to the regional Zones, with promotion and relegation between it and Group III. A total of 127 nations participated in the tournament. In the final, Sweden defeated the United States at the Scandinavium in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 28–30 November, giving Sweden their 6th title.
