Ukrainian First League 1995–96 was the fifth season of the Ukrainian First League which was easily won by Vorskla Poltava. The season started on August 4, 1995, and finished on July 1, 1996.

Note:
FC Temp Shepetivka at first united with FC Advis Khmelnytskyi, but in the second half it relocated to Kamyanets-Podilskyi and was renamed to Ratusha (townhall -eng.). The club folded at the end of the season.
Skala Stryi that was formed out of FC Karpaty Kamyanka-Buzka in 1992 to reinstate a Polish club of 70 years ago upon the conclusion of the season folded. Later another club from Komarne will move to Stryi and will be called as FC Hazovyk-Skala.
No clubs were relegated this season as three participants withdrew out of competition at the end of the season.
