The 1989–90 BCAFL was the fifth full season of the British Collegiate American Football League, organised by the British Students American Football Association.

  • With the increase to 16 teams, the Southern Conference was split into Eastern & Western Conferences.
  • There were five new teams, representing:
  • University of Birmingham, joining the Western Conference
  • University of Paisley, joining the Scottish Conference
  • University of Sheffield, joining the Northern Conference
  • University of Southampton, joining the Western Conference
  • University of Warwick, joining the Eastern Conference
