  • October 23: ABS-CBN Corporation celebrates 35th anniversary of Philippine television and ABS-CBN's 35th anniversary aside the network's simulcast nationwide via satellite the following year with the slogan "Satellite Simulcast Nationwide/Satellite Broadcasting System". Also during The Star Network era used for station ID within the year, the ribbons in the tri-ribbon channel 2 logo are tri-colored with red, green and blue. Truly, the logo was accidentally coming from a shooting star in the form of 2 (one year later since 1987, the first tri-ribbon 2 logo laced with a rhomboidal star came to be on 1 March after six months when the logo's color is white and carried its slogan).
