The 1984 NBL season was the sixth season of competition since its establishment in 1979. A total of 16 teams contested the league. The regular season was played between 3 February 1984 and 23 June 1984, followed by the Grand Final on 29 June until 1 July 1984, Melbourne Tigers made a debut this season and the Westate Wildcats becomes the Perth Wildcats.
