1984 Dominican Republic earthquake

On June 24, 1984, a magnitude 6.7 Mw earthquake occurred off the southern coast of the Dominican Republic. Its epicenter was located 370 kilometres (230 mi) east of the epicenter of the 2010 Haiti earthquake. The USGS estimates that 320,000 people were affected at intensity VII (Very strong) and 2,964,000 at intensity VI (Strong), resulting in an estimated five fatalities.
