1969 Australian Sports Car Championship

The 1969 Australian Sports Car Championship was a CAMS sanctioned motor racing title for drivers of Group A Sports Cars, Group B Improved Production Sports Cars and Group D Series Production Sports Cars. The 1969 title was the inaugural Australian Sports Car Championship, replacing the Australian Tourist Trophy as Australia's premier Sports Car contest.

Schedule

The championship was contested over a three-round series with one race per round.

  • Round 1, RAC Trophy, Warwick Farm, New South Wales, 4 May
  • Round 2, Surfers Paradise, Queensland, 18 May
  • Round 3, Trans-Australian Trophy, Sandown, Victoria, 9 November
  • Points system

    Championship points were awarded on a 9-6-4-3-2-1 basis to the first six placegetters at each round.
