In the 1962–63 season, USM Alger is competing in the Championnat National for the 1st season, as well as the Algerian Cup. They will be competing in Championnat National, and the Algerian Cup.

Placed in Group V of the Honorary Criterium, USMA finished at the top with the best attack and the best defense in any group and qualified for the final of the League Poule d'Alger. Faced with the winners of other groups Criterium, the team won all his matches and wins the title of champion of Algiers.
Allowing him to compete in the National tournament to determine the champion of Algeria. In the final of this tournament, USMA defeated MC Alger three goals to nil and became the first champion team of Algeria after its independence
