The 1955–56 New York Rangers season was the 30th season for the team in the National Hockey League. In the regular season, the Rangers finished third overall in the league with a 32–28–10 record. New York qualified for the Stanley Cup playoffs, where they lost to the Montreal Canadiens 4–1 in a best of seven games series.
