Overview
Dumbarton's slump continued by finishing rock bottom of the Second Division, 18th out of 18, with just 16 points - 43 behind champions Falkirk. Heavy defeats were again a feature, and for the first time Dumbarton conceded over 100 goals in a league season.
In the Scottish Cup, there was a third round exit, to First Division Third Lanark.
Locally, there was some cheer when Dumbarton won the Dumbartonshire Cup, with victory over non-league side Vale Ocaba.
Elsewhere a local friendly match was played.
Note that the number of goals conceded in all games during the season was 133, the sixth time the 'century' had been broken, and beating the previous worst total set in 1896.
