The 1929–30 New York Rangers season was the fourth season for the team in the National Hockey League. In the regular season, the Rangers finished third in the American Division with a 17–17–10 record. New York qualified for the Stanley Cup playoffs, where the Rangers defeated the Ottawa Senators 6–3 in a two-game, total-goals series, but lost to the Montreal Canadiens 2–0 in the semi-finals.
