Overview

With just two wins from their first 11 league games, promotion was never going to be a real possibility and in the end Dumbarton finished 14th, out of 19, in the Second Division with 31 points - 20 behind champions Dundee United. Note that Bathgate resigned during the season and their record up till that time was expunged.

In the Scottish Cup, Dumbarton reached the third round before losing out to Raith Rovers.

Locally, Dumbarton were runners-up in the Dumbartonshire Cup for the fifth season running, again losing out to Clydebank in the final.

Results

All results are written with Dumbarton's score first.

Other Matches

Note - both games against Bathgate were played as league fixtures, but as Bathgate resigned before the end of the season, all their results were expunged.

Appearances

Dumbarton used 22 players for the 39 Scottish League and Scottish Cup matches, as detailed below. Muir was the only player to feature in all of these matches.
