The 1892–93 season was the first in the history of the Western Football League, which was known as the Bristol & District League until 1895. Nine clubs formed the new league, which consisted of a single division. Wells City joined the league from the Somerset Senior League, of which they had been champions twice. Warmley were the first champions of the new league.

Division One

1 The system of using goal average to separate two teams tied on points was used up to and including the 1976–77 season.

2 The points system: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for losing.
