History
The Four Party Alliance was a political grouping in the Jatiyo Sangshad, or National Assembly of Bangladesh. It was formed in 1999 for the 2001 election, and consisted of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, Jatiya Party (Manju), and Islami Oikya Jote. The alliance won a substantial majority in 2001, but was heavily defeated by the Grand Alliance of Bangladesh in 2008.
