Usage

On a weekday the station is used on average by 1,476 people (2006). This is the station used to access the Nippon Bunri University on nearby Sakanoichi.

  • History

  • November 25, 1924: Opened by the Japanese Government Railways.
  • October 10, 1967: Electrification of the Nippō Main Line up to Kōzaki Station.
  • April 1, 1987: Following privatization of JNR it came under the control of JR Kyushu.
  • March 1, 2005: The third reconstruction of the Station building is finished.
  • March 14, 2009: The Sonic limited express starts using this station as a stop.
