History
Ōbuke Station was opened on August 27, 1922 as a station serving the village of Ōbuke, Iwate. A spur line operated from this station to Matsuo mine from 1948 to 1972. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of the JNR on April 1, 1987.
