Founded in 1973, ÖSYM ("Ölçme, Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi" in Turkish, meaning "Measuring, Selection and Placement Center") is the body responsible for organizing the national level university entrance examination YGS-LYS, and several other large scale examinations in Turkey.

English exams
As well as YDS (Language Proficiency Test administered in Turkey), there are also:
1) LYS-5 (see LYS link above) 2) a section of the teacher's exam (ÖABT) which is in English for English teachers.
