Tramway line T2 (Trans Val-de-Seine) is a tramway in Île-de-France. It connects Porte de Versailles, Paris, with Pont de Bezons via La Défense.
History
The line opened in 1997, mostly on converted SNCF right-of-way, and has since been extended twice. The first extension, in 2009, took the line into Paris, from the previous southern terminus of Issy Val-de-Seine to Porte de Versailles. In 2012 a northwest extension from La Défense to Bezons, along boulevard Mission Marchand (Courbevoie - La Garenne Colombes) and boulevard Charles de Gaulle (Colombes) opened. Journey time from Bezons to La Défense is expected to be 12 minutes.
Because of the success of this line (115,000 people use it daily) the trams were doubled in length in 2005, raising the capacity of each tram to 440 passengers.
