Zyganisus caliginosus, the Australian goat moth, is a moth of the Cossidae family. It is found in Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales.

The wingspan is 48–68 mm for males and 73–81 mm for females. There are fine lines and strigulae on the forewings. The hindwings are fuscous. Adults have been recorded on wing from June to August.

Larvae that are possibly this species have been described as short dull, red naked grubs that feed on the stem of Eucalyptus or Angophora species. They were recorded tunneling under the bark. When nearly full-grown, they bored into the wood and pupated in a cocoon.
