Zhong Tai (In Chinese the name translates to “peace and safety for the people”),(registration required) is an all-electric car manufactured by Chinese company New Power, a subsidiary of Zotye. It is based on a 2006 Daihatsu Terios and is able to achieve up to 250 miles (400 km) on one charging.
The vehicle is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack that can be recharged in 2 hours and the car can reach a top speed of 75 miles per hour (121 km/h). The company plans to market the car in the UK with a price between $26,000 and $33,000.
