The Zebulon B. Vance Birthplace, also known as the Vance Birthplace is a historic home in Buncombe County, North Carolina, and a historic site managed by the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources' Historic Sites division. The property was the location of the birth of Governor Zebulon Baird Vance in 1830, and exhibits at the historic site serve to tell the story of the Governor's political and military careers. The site also highlights the lives of Gov. Vance's famous family members—including his grandfather, Col. David Vance, Sr., who helped establish Buncombe County and his uncle, Dr. Robert Brank Vance. The reconstructed family home and six outbuildings tell the story of pioneer life in the North Carolina mountains.
