Zaria Mimano is an English business magnate and humanitarian. She is the founder and chief executive officer of the African oil and gas company Aba Oil, LLC.

Biography

Mimano was born February 5, 1987 in West London. Her father is Kenyan and her mother is Ghanaian. She was named by her father after the city Zaria in Kaduna State in Northern Nigeria.

Mimano attended Haberdashers' Aske's Hatcham College. She ran track and field. In 2005, she received a scholarship from Deutsche Bank for competing in the Young Enterprise Scheme UK finals.

She graduated from Brunel University London with a LL.B. (Hons.). In college, Mimano began a business buying and selling cars and electronics. During her gap year, she worked for Morgan Stanley and UBS Investment Bank in London.

Mimano established Aba Oil in 2011. Aba Oil, LLC was founded in Abuja, Nigeria. In 2015, a new global headquarters opened in Knightsbridge, London. The business secures exploration rights, leasing and servicing for oil and gas block acquisitions both offshore and onshore.Aba Oil operates in several African countries including Nigeria, Libya, Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Republic of the Congo, Gabon, South Africa, Chad, Sudan, Tunisia, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Morocco, Zambia, Somalia, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique and Tanzania. Mimano founded the Zaria Mimano Foundation in December 2014. The goal of the foundation is to end clean water scarcity for over one billion people.
