ZZ Boötis is a star system in the constellation Boötes. It varies from magnitude 6.79 to 7.44 over 5 days. Based on its Hipparcos parallax, it is about 340 light-years (106 parsecs) away.
ZZ Boötis is actually a binary star system, specifically an eclipsing binary. In these, the two components pass in front of each other while orbiting, blocking some of the other star's light. The component stars appear to be of almost equal mass, differing by only 3%.
