The South-Tambeyskoye gas field is a natural gas field located in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. It was discovered in 1974 and developed by and Novatek. It began production in 1976 and produces natural gas and condensates. Proven and probable resources in the deposit is 907 billion cubic metres (32.0 trillion cubic feet), of which proven reserves are around 481.4 billion cubic metres (17.00 trillion cubic feet).
The Sabetta LNG plant and port is planned to export gas from this field. In December 2014, amid the 2014–15 Russian financial crisis, the Russian government gave a 150 billion rouble subsidy to this LNG project.
