"Your Love" is a song by Jamie Principle featuring Adrienne Jett's vocals. Its original recordings are early examples of Chicago house music.

Key features of the song are the arpeggiated repeating synthesizer line and a powerful, propulsive bassline. Part of the bassline was based on that of the Italo disco/boogie track "Feels Good (Carrots and Beets)" by Electra featuring Tara Butler.
"Your Love" also features a progressive chord sequence clearly demonstrating the transitional nature of the track's structure: lying between that of a traditional pop-disco song and the simpler house structure of songs later in the decade (which made large use of extended one-chord sections).
Versions
The first version of the song was a 1984 demo, remixed by Jose "Louie" Gomez and only made available to DJs on acetates or reel-to-reel tapes. It was played in Chicago nightclubs, including the Power Plant, by Frankie Knuckles who was introduced to Jamie Principle by Gomez, and was included on some DJ mixtapes.
The first commercially released version of the song was produced by Mark "Hot Rod" Trollan. It was released as a vinyl 12" single on small, independent, Chicago label Persona Records in 1986.
The second commercially released version was produced by (and usually credited to) Frankie Knuckles in 1987, but still featured Principle on vocals. This release of the song is considered a classic in the house genre. It became a hit in Chicago clubs and beyond after its 12" release in 1987 on US label Trax Records, and again after its subsequent licensing to UK and Belgian labels in 1989. These records all bill Frankie Knuckles as the main artist, and only some give any credit to Principle.
Following Knuckles' death on March 31, 2014, the song re-entered the UK Singles Chart at number 29, beating its 1989 position of number 59.
Uses in media
In 2004, the song was used in the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas soundtrack as a song on the House music station, SF-UR.
In 2010, it was used in episode 18 (Walter and Edith Krieger) in the final season of Nip/Tuck.
Cover versions and sampling
"Your Love" notably forms the basis of The Source track "You Got the Love", this song essentially being a mashup using the instrumentation of "Your Love", with the a cappella of Candi Staton's overlooked single also called "You Got The Love".
"Your Love" was covered and released by UK band 2020 Soundsystem (Ralph Lawson) in 2006 with Hospital Records vocalists Diane Charlemagne and Pat Fulgoni sharing vocal duties
"Your Love" was covered by UK band Friendly Fires on their debut "Photobooth" EP in 2006, and it remained a fixture in their live set as of the end of 2008.
"Your Love" is covered on the 2005 Paradise Boys album The Young and The Guest List.
The bass line is used by Hercules and Love Affair in their song Time Will on their debut album.
"Your Love" is covered in 2010 by UK house act Cicada.
The main synth line was borrowed by Animal Collective in their song My Girls.
