This Young Achievers Awards is a youth-inspired and youth led initiative targeted towards youth

ages 18– 35 which has run for 6 years (2009-2014). The Young Achievers Awards recognises,

rewards and celebrates outstanding youth in Uganda. These include Social Entrepreneurship,

business, Innovation and ICT, Farming and Agro- Processing, Sports Personality, Music, Media and

Journalism, Fashion, Film and Photography, Overall Achiever of the Year and the ceremony will be

culminated with the Lifetime Achievement Award and Heroes/Heroine Award. Some of the past

winners for the special Awards have included Esther Kalenzi, Eric and Rebecca Kaduru, Godfrey,

Isaac Oboth, Phionah Mutesi(Queen of Katwe) as well as our Lifetime Achievers, like The late Dr.

James Mulwana .

In lieu with its founding vision, the goal 2017 is to reward young innovative people and inspire a

new generation of youth to take up ownership and leadership of industry in Uganda.

The award ceremony for this initiative will be celebrated on Saturday, 12 August 2017 which is

internationally recognised as International Youth day.

History

Founded in 2009, the Award was created as a platform to showcase Uganda's best talent as an encouragement in their quest to create economic opportunity, attain financial independence and improve their leadership abilities to ultimately play meaningful roles in managing the affairs of society.

The Young Achievers Awards recognises, rewards and celebrates outstanding youth in Uganda. These include Social Entrepreneurship, business, Innovation and ICT, Farming and Agro- Processing, Sports Personality, Music, Media and Journalism, Fashion, Film and Photography, Overall Achiever of the Year and the ceremony will culminate with the Lifetime Achievement Award and Heroes/Heroine Award.

After a four year break, the awards are returning this year, bigger and better.
