It is taken from their 1996 album Moseley Shoals and was the second single to be released from this album, following "The Riverboat Song". The single was also released as a demo alternative on a second CD, with additional B-sides.

The song is commonly used as bumper music for the National Public Radio syndicated show On Point, produced out of Boston, Massachusetts in the United States.
